Food For Health - Thai Food

There are no fewer than 200-300 Thai recipes. Each has its very own characteristics in flavor and feature.

It is simple to cook in the pre-historic era. Humans began their eating with raw trees: flowers, leaves, roots and bulbs. After having tasted the vagetables'bland flavor, they added some sour ones to produce tastier, or mixed selection of vegetables. Later, they knew how to make simple cooking, such as, burning vegetables or putting rice into roasted bamboo (which was called "kaawlaam" or a glutinous rice with coconut cream topping stuffed in a bamboo section and roasted). When the time passed by, they learned how to cook in different ways: frying, making soup or curry, steaming, making yam (salad) and preserving.

Food cooking is both science and art. Some foods need time, man power and delicacy in cooking, including an artistic decoration. Collaboration in cooking helps develop oneness and friendliness amongst family members.

The process of Thai cuisine explains Thai life: its tradition, custom and culture as well as confirms that Thai family is a big one in which its members live along with warm relationship. In cooking Thai food, close relatives have their own share of helping, as a teamwork. Either the adults or the youngsters, males or females, can take part. In a number of old families, the older people knew the best way to manage the young off springs giving their hands in cooking. Young children might help with light works, e.g., nipping off little egg plants, or sweet basils from the stem; at the same time the bigger children could peel onions, garlics, pluck off vegetables, press coconut meat, and pound chillies and spices, for instance.

As a result, it is clearly observed that food cooking creates closeness among members of the family in talking and chatting to one another. Youngsters knew the best way to help, and to cook as well as to learn to have responsibility and discipline in working. All the family, then, has a warm relationship and as a result produces worthwhile people for society in general.

Names:

Thai food always has its purposeful names which indicate its features or methods of cooking. Khanom Pui Fai is light, soft and yellowish white like cotton wool. Mi Krop (Crispy noodles) should be crispy. In the past, most Thai people usually had a sense of humour so they frequently named foods, poetically, to stimulate the appetite. Some of those foods are Jorka Lonson (Black bean in coconut milk), Naree Jaamseen (Banana in coconut milk) Ho Mujcha Chailai (Steamed curried fish), Paad Paakdong Fong Raga (Pickled vegetable fried with egg)

The Flavor of Thai food: Regional Dishes :

The North: The food of the North has its own light flavor, with just a little spices, not too hot with chillies, not salty and without sugar, with the exception of Phak Jo, Kaeng Kae, Kaeng Oom Moo, Sai Uaa, etc.

The North-East:The North-Eastern food has a strong flavor with chillies, salt, herbs and spices. Examples are Lap Pradook, Som Tom, Oomsab Tomsab, etc.

The Centre:The Central food has a moderate flavor with herbs and sugar. Kaeng Khieo Wan, Kaeng Som, Tom Yam, Tom Khaa Kai, Phanaeng, Choochee, are examples.

The South:The South has a very strong flavor of food with spicy herbs. Examples are fried or grilled tumeric-powdered fish, Kaeng Lyan, Tom Som, Pla Krabok and Kaeng Taipla.

How To Make An Authentic Pizza

Pizza is one of the most popular Italian dishes in the entire world as it is in fact one of the most filling and one of the most delicious as well. Of course if one would want to create an authentic pizza at home, he has to first have his own recipe. Now if one does not know the basics of making pizzas, then he may follow this very simple guide then be creative from there.

Now before anything else, he has to make sure that he handles the dough well. Now before even touching the dough, he has to make sure to turn on the oven and heat it up a little. Now if one does not know what temperature to preheat the oven in, then he can just put it at a standard temperature of around three hundred degrees.

Once one has already preheated the oven, then the next thing to do is to now take care of the crust. Now there are usually stores that would sell these types of pre made crusts. So the easiest way to be able to make the crust would be to buy a pre made one from the grocery store.

Once that has been taken care of, then the next thing to do would be to add the sauce. It is here that one can be a little creative as he can add a few things in the sauce other than just use the regular tomato sauce from the supermarket. He can add extra garlic or other things to the sauce if he would want.

Once that is already done, then one may start sprinkling the cheese over the dough that is covered with the tomato sauce. Typically, one would be using mozzarella cheese to sprinkle all over the dough and cover the entire circle with cheese. Now if one would want to add some extra taste, then he may actually add some parmesan cheese to add a rather saltier flavor.

Once the cheese has been added, the very next step would be the toppings. Of course the toppings would depend on the maker as it is up to him on what he would want to put. He may put mushrooms, anchovies, olives or anything he would want.

Of course in order to add a little more flavor, he may put other extra things before he puts the dough into the oven. There are things like garlic flakes or chili flakes that one could add so that there would actually be an extra flavor when it comes out. Now in order to add a little more taste, one can put some olive oil on top as well.

Of course when all of that is already done, then one has to now put the thing into the oven. All he has to do is wait for the pizza to bake and just watch it from time to time to make sure it does not get burned. After being baked, he can then take it out, let it cool down for a while, then start giving cutting slices.

How To Make Some Delicious Welsh Cookies

You can always feel happy after you have achieved or done something that you never thought that you can do for a long time. Some people might not be able to have a talent when it comes to baking or cooking. The first part of the process that must be done is to pour the milk and break the egg in a bowl. You should use a fork in whisking them so they will be well combined. The next ingredients that must be placed in the bowl are the currents. Mix all those items that were stated awhile ago on a larger bowl after that.

After doing the steps on top, you have to combine the first and the second mixtures that you have created awhile ago. It is also advisable to make use of a wooden spoon in this step. Once done, you will now be able to make a dough. The latter must then be formed into a flat disc before they can be covered with plastic.

The moment you have done that step, chilling the dough inside the freezer for about an hour must follow. Remember that the traditional version of these cookies have the same shapes as pancakes. If you wish to make use of a different and distinct design and shape for the ones you are making, then that is really possible. The cookie cutter will also be your assistant in creating more shapes designs.

Once you are done having the cookies chilled, taking them out of the freezer is the next thing you should do and then place over a wax paper. Besides that fact that they look like pancakes, the same way can also be done to cook them. You have to prepare a griddle to perform the task. It is alright to use a hot nonstick skillet, too.

You can now spray the griddle using a nonstick spray. It is also important to position the cookies in as far as two inches from each other. A spatula must also be used when it is time for you to turn them around and make sure you are not going to burn them.

Tongs should also be used in removing them from the griddle once you are sure that the Welsh cookies are already cooked. Sugar can be used to top the cookies. After doing so, you may now eat what you have made.
